JUICY (Part 8) • "Gentleness" • Barry Bandara

• This Series: We all get squeezed by life, whether it’s an irritating driver, co-worker, neighbor, or anyone else who gets on our nerves. We all face frustrating life events such as car problems, unexpected bills, unmet expectations, or an end of a relationship. When we get squeezed by life, something WILL come out of us. It will either sweet or it will be sour. What comes out depends on how close we are walking with the Spirit.

 

• This Week: A wild horse is a danger to himself and anyone near him. However, a horse that has be broken and trained is another story all together. This horse you can trust with a child on its back and a bridle in its mouth. Gentleness means strength under control. Jesus modeled gentleness when he was beaten and falsely accused. He chose to remain silent – the epitome of gentleness. Anyone can go “off” on someone else when they are angry. It takes incredible power to remain calm (gentle) when someone is going “off” on you. This fruit of the Spirit is something many will admire and respect today.

JUICY (Part 7) • "Faithfulness" • Bob Valles

• This Series: We all get squeezed by life, whether it’s an irritating driver, co-worker, neighbor, or anyone else who gets on our nerves. We all face frustrating life events such as car problems, unexpected bills, unmet expectations, or an end of a relationship. When we get squeezed by life, something WILL come out of us. It will either sweet or it will be sour. What comes out depends on how close we are walking with the Spirit.

 

• This Week: Once again, this fruit of the Spirit is rare today because our culture is nowhere near walking with God. Relationships, marriages, and commitments are broken easily whenever the situation gets difficult or inconvenient. Being faithful to your word used to mean a great deal. Walking in step with the Spirit will cause us to be the rare person today: someone who is faithful; one who others can count on.

JUICY (Part 6) • "Goodness" • Barry Bandara

• This Series: We all get squeezed by life, whether it’s an irritating driver, co-worker, neighbor, or anyone else who gets on our nerves. We all face frustrating life events such as car problems, unexpected bills, unmet expectations, or an end of a relationship. When we get squeezed by life, something WILL come out of us. It will either sweet or it will be sour. What comes out depends on how close we are walking with the Spirit.

 

•This Week: Kindness is how one reacts and interacts with others. Goodness is something we do. It is action oriented. It’s doing something that is good and beneficial for someone. It is blessing someone because God has blessed you. When one is in step with the Spirit, we will have eyes to see the good He wants us to do.

JUICY (Part 5) • "Kindness" • Barry Bandara

• This Series: We all get squeezed by life, whether it’s an irritating driver, co-worker, neighbor, or anyone else who gets on our nerves. We all face frustrating life events such as car problems, unexpected bills, unmet expectations, or an end of a relationship. When we get squeezed by life, something WILL come out of us. It will either sweet or it will be sour. What comes out depends on how close we are walking with the Spirit.

 

• This Week: It sure seems like our culture has become unkinder every week. Comments on social media are rude and harsh. Drivers won’t let other cars merge, even if their blinker is on. Smiles are rare while curse words are everywhere. However, one of the sweetest fruits of the spirit is kindness such as: talking kindly, greeting kindly, disagreeing kindly, driving kindly, etc. Sadly, studies show the first thing to disappear in a marriage is simple kindness. This won’t happen when a follower is in step with the Spirit.

JUICY (Part 4) • "Patience" • Barry Bandara

• This Series: We all get squeezed by life, whether it’s an irritating driver, co-worker, neighbor, or anyone else who gets on our nerves. We all face frustrating life events such as car problems, unexpected bills, unmet expectations, or an end of a relationship. When we get squeezed by life, something WILL come out of us. It will either sweet or it will be sour. What comes out depends on how close we are walking with the Spirit.

 

• This Week: Not many of us are naturally patient. We want what we want when we want it. Patience is a fruit of being in step with the Spirit of God. When we are, we will be more patient with those around us because we know how patient God is with us.

JUICY (Part 3) • "Peace" • Bob Valles

• This Series: We all get squeezed by life, whether it’s an irritating driver, co-worker, neighbor, or anyone else who gets on our nerves. We all face frustrating life events such as car problems, unexpected bills, unmet expectations, or an end of a relationship. When we get squeezed by life, something WILL come out of us. It will either sweet or it will be sour. What comes out depends on how close we are walking with the Spirit.

 

• This Week: Peace is in rare supply these days. All around us, there is turmoil, strife, and conflict. Peace is priceless. Peace helps us sleep at night. Peace gives us hope. Peace is the result of walking in the Spirit – even if it is difficult and unpopular.

JUICY (Part 2) • "Joy" • Barry Bandara

• This Series: We all get squeezed by life, whether it’s an irritating driver, co-worker, neighbor, or anyone else who gets on our nerves. We all face frustrating life events such as car problems, unexpected bills, unmet expectations, or an end of a relationship. When we get squeezed by life, something WILL come out of us. It will either sweet or it will be sour. What comes out depends on how close we are walking with the Spirit.

 

• This Week: We all love to be HAPPY. But happiness is fleeting because it’s situational. Joy, however, is better than happy because joy is a choice. The difficult situation may not be enjoyable, but joy will carry us through the situation. Joy only comes from walking with the Spirit. Joy is a deep satisfaction in our souls. It’s connected to a peace beyond understanding. Joy reminds us that God is in control and that He loves us.

JUICY (Part 1) • "Love" • Barry Bandara

• This Series: We all get squeezed by life, whether it’s an irritating driver, co-worker, neighbor, or anyone else who gets on our nerves. We all face frustrating life events such as car problems, unexpected bills, unmet expectations, or an end of a relationship. When we get squeezed by life, something WILL come out of us. • This Week: Love is difficult word for our culture to define because our culture views love through the filter of feelings. It’s more than that. True love goes beyond feelings. The first fruit of the Spirit is the source of health to every relationship: LOVE

THE HOLY SPIRIT (Part 4) • "Honor the Holy Spirit – Part B" • Barry Bandara

• This Series: The Trinity is the most difficult biblical doctrine for the human brain to understand: There are 3 distinct aspects of singular Godhead. We can understand God the Father and we can identify with God the Son because we can read stories about Jesus. However, God the Spirit is a mystery to most people. This series will help you understand this amazing Helper that Jesus left for His followers.

 

• This Week: Hearing, "The Lord spoke to me," or "God told me..." can cause some people to question the reality or legitimacy of those statements. On the surface, it sounds strange but the longer you have walked with God, those statements are quite normal. In fact, Jesus predicted things like this would happen when the Holy Spirit came.

THE HOLY SPIRIT (Part 3) • "Honor the Holy Spirit – Part A" • Barry Bandara

• This Week: The Holy Spirit gives each believer spiritual gifts as the Spirit determines. We all don’t receive the same gifts. However, each follower of Jesus honors the Spirit when we use our gifts to be a blessing to others in the church and outside the church.
